Ranger boat owners--you will have to change the bottom of your seat to a 3/4" seat base. This will have to be purchased separately from a marine supply business (iBoats, Amazon, etc). We have a pin assembly that will tighten into the 1.77" seat hole in your deck to secure the seat mount (included with Ranger orders).

In Final Fantasy 14, mounts are more than a faster way for players to get around. They are a status symbol and they have tons of personality in their designs and movements. They range from animals to machines to even combinations of the two.

Mounts are unlocked once a player completes the level 20 main story quest, "A Hero in the Making," and joins a Grand Company. Then complete the quest "My Little Chocobo" which is given by an NPC near the chosen Grand Company Building.

Single-seater mounts like the Grand Company Chocobo and Fatter Cat are good but two-seater mounts are always highly desired by players. Final Fantasy 14 is an MMO, meaning that a lot of people play with their friends. With a two-seater mount, traveling with friends is easy. But how does one get a two-seater mount? There are 13 two-seater mounts so far in the game. Every single one has a different method of obtaining.

The most common two-seater mounts are in chocobo form. This particular one was introduced in patch 3.0. It is obtainable only through the Recruit a Friend Campaign. This means going to the Mogstation website and filling out a Recruit a Friend form. The recruited friend will also need to follow the steps, entering a recruitment code in their Mogstation account.

To get the Amber Draught Chocobo, players need to recruit two friends. Each time a friend is recruited, the recruiter is awarded five Gold Chocobo Feathers. The Amber Draught Chocobo costs eight of those and can be purchased from a Calamity Salvager.

The Indigo Whale is one of several two-seater mounts that are purchasable on the Mogstation website. It was introduced in patch 4.4 and costs around 30 dollars. The mount is enormous and has two players sit with an entire picnic table set up on the whale's back. This is actually one of two whale-mounts Final Fantasy 14 has to offer. The other is the Lunar Whale.

Introduced in patch 5.5, the Landerwaffe is a major status symbol of Shadowbringers. It is only obtainable by collecting all seven Gwiber mounts, the seven being Diamond, Fae, Emerald, Light, Ruby, Innocent, and Shadow. Getting those Gwibers is no easy task, as it takes grinding Extreme Shadowbringer boss dungeons. Once all the Gwibers are collected, the Landerwaffe is obtained via the unlocked quest "The Dragon Made."

This gorgeous pegasus mount is rarely seen due to how difficult it is for players to obtain. First of all, they have to be a Mentor that has access to the Duty Roulette: Mentor. Being a mentor in itself can be a challenge, requiring up to one thousand five hundred player commendations. However, it takes more than that for this mount. The mentor will have to complete two thousand Mentor Roulette duties for the Astrope. One will know they have done two thousand if they have the achievement, "I Hope Mentor Will Notice Me VI."

Moogles are usually pretty small, but this one is big enough to strap a swing to and ride! It was introduced as a Mogstation purchase in patch 3.35. Like the Indigo Whale, it costs about 30 dollars. Players get to sit next to each other on a swing with two little moogles flying at their side and one massive one floating above.

Recently released in patch 5.5, the Cruise Chaser is mount that transforms between aircraft and humanoid mech. It is humanoid on land and becomes an aircraft in flight. It is only obtained through a purchase at the Mogstation.

This mount is more than a two-seater. It can seat four players! It may look familiar, as it was part of a crossover event between Final Fantasy 14 and Final Fantasy 15. That's right, it's actually the same car Noctis travels in. The collaboration event was called "A Nocturne for Heroes" and made the mount purchasable for two hundred thousand MGP from an Ironworks Vendor at the Gold Saucer.

This four-seater mount is dropped upon completion of Eden's Gate: Sepulture (Savage). It was introduced in patch 5.05. This mount is not often seen, as Eden's Gate: Sepulture (Savage) is one of the most difficult Savage raids of Shadowbringers.

Similar to the Amber Draught Chocobo, this Draught Chocobo is also obtained through the Recruit a Friend Campaign. Instead of recruiting two friends though, the Draught Chocobo actually just requires a recruit to subscribe for 90 days. Upon 90 days, the recruiter will get the Draught Chocobo.

This mount is actually a four-seater, but it is a difficult one to get. It is an award for the achievement "Savage Queen of Swords I." The achievement is given to players that complete the level 80 duty, Delubrum Reginae (Savage). The regular-duty is hard, but the Savage version is merciless with a lot of resurrection restrictions.

Yet another two-seater chocobo is the Ceremony Chocobo that is part of the Eternal Bond package sold at the Mogstation. The Eternal Bond package is how to players can get married in-game. There is a wedding, a quest, teleportation rings, wedding clothes, and the white two-seater chocobo.

This mount is not a two-seater or even four-seater. It can actually seat eight players! It is one of the more expensive mounts purchasable on the Mogstation for about 42 dollars. However, that is a price some are willing to pay to be able to keep a full party together in one single mount.

I run an xlab gorilla xt behind the seat mounted to a Tririg beta bottle carrier, setup as just one but it can do 2. 99.9% sure I have never lost a bottle with this setup but does take some practice getting in and out of.

If you are doing standard bottles BTA make sure they seal up well even when open, have some older specialized ones I now just use for racing. As noted above an advantage to standard bottles is you can swap them out if needed. For a 70.3 I carry 2 with very dense carb mix and just take extra water, drink and toss, the bottle in the feed zones.

I run BTA between my arms on the front and then either one (50) or two (100) bottles off an Xlab superwing with a single bottle for 50 and a double for 100. That also provides a space for a few spares such as tubeless repairs and a multitool. I use gorilla cages

The Xwing is a solid holder. For a 50, then a single bottle cage would do. If you want to run a garmin varia a great place to put it is cable tie the garmin stem mount to the back of the Superwing and it is in a really aero position. Of course that is where a single cage would go.

With 86 92 (apparently I cannot count) Business Class seats on the plane there are plenty to choose from, at least in theory. That said, there are definitely some which are more comfortable and spacious than others.

Next up in terms of decent seats are the bulkhead seats at 22 DEFG and 34. There is a bit of extra leg room but you cannot stretch your legs all the way forward. And, like the other bulkheads, fixed seat dividers. The bulkhead at row 34 is also the bassinet positions so there is a decent chance of babies there.

The other interesting foot space issue comes in the DEFG column of seats. There are four seats but still only two mount points to the floor. The vertical risers are roughly about a third of the way in to the E and F seats. This creates a situation where there are only three foot wells for the four passengers in that area. The E/F passengers will have to straddle the mounting riser and share partially with the D/G passengers. Because of the way the IFE box is mounted at the E seat that column ends up having the worst foot space of any of the coach seats.

There are a handful of overhead bin locations which have cabin equipment at them, making them unavailable for passenger use. The Sky Interior overheads mostly make that a non-issue in terms of accommodating all the cabin baggage, but still worth being aware of the following limited locations:

Yes, the economy seats have outlets. In the center 4 column there are two 110v plugs per row, so you have to share. I believe there are two per 3 seat section, also, and one for the 2 seat sections, but I did not confirm that.

Thanks for the details.

I would have thought they would get a better IFE system that does not use that box under the seat. Glad to see inseat piwer in Economy :).

Any open seat is always good for me ?

Row 81 is fine, too. Rather closer to the forward lavs so potential noise issues there, but probably not enough to really matter. You will be served meals first, which matters a bit more with the larger upper deck now, in terms of total timing.

Thanks for the review and pictures!

Next month I am flying on a Lufthansa 747-8 with an in-cabin pet. Am trying to find information about the under-seat measurements in coach. The Lufthansa agent whom I spoke with on the phone either did not have that information or was (for whatever reason) loath to provide it.
