Hi all,

Not sure if this was accidental and just related to a translation effort, but I noticed that a user named @xunlie369 created an account on Dec 9th and deleted the English version of the Get Involved Page.

Uh oh, it's true. https://github.com/getlantern/lantern/wiki/_history shows it happened 5 days ago in revision ff2e56f. Thanks for noticing, Todd, and too bad we were without that page for 5 days.

No other public activity on https://github.com/xunlie369. Found the email associated with the account by cloning https://github.com/getlantern/lantern.wiki and looking at the git log, and am copying this person on this post so she or he has the opportunity to explain.

If this kind of thing happens enough we might have to go back to only allowing approved users to edit the wiki.

No big deal. I have it locally. Will get it back up.

Thanks, Todd! Noticed the new https://github.com/getlantern/lantern/wiki/Get-involved page you added is now ReST and not markdown, so you must not have done a simple revert of xunlie's commit to restore the old version, but rather just uploaded a new version straightaway. If you ever want to just do a simple undo of a commit in git, either because you don't have the other version which you want to push locally or for any other reason, it's relatively easy (see https://www.kernel.org/pub/software/scm/git/docs/git-revert.html).

Thanks again for noticing and fixing this!

Thanks _pants.

Looks like the translating lantern page is gone, too.

It was last updated by @wto143.

Oh no, not another one! What's up with that? Anyone know of some good way we can get a notification when a non-core contributor deletes a page? I guess this will be moot when we move to https://github.com/getlantern/lantern-docs and getting a PR accepted is required if you want to edit our docs, so reason to migrate all the sooner.

Will get it back up.

Thank you!

Thanks for the info on reverting.

My pleasure!

I'm cleaning up the rest versions of the doc so just copied and pasted as I already had that topic open. :)

Cool. :)

Thanks again, Todd!
