Used it for ½ hour on Win10 then tablet oreo then android pie phone .

 

On win10 after 10 mn or so I was still connected BUT no VPN – waited for like 5 mn still SAME server (GB that is) worked again after D/C and reconnecting

On phone and tablet I tried for like 5 mn.

 

I accessed porn sites – worked

Fastest connection is on win10

Gonna try whatsapp today or tomorrow

 

Tell me wot you need from me so we can make this thing work wonders.

This is very helpful Roger thanks. Lantern attempts to automatically detect blocking, so it's possible that it's not properly detecting it in that particular case. You can turn on "proxy all" in Lantern's settings that should cause it to proxy that particular site successfully.

Can you let us know if that works for you? Also definitely curious about WhatsApp!

Damn. Whatsapp ain't working and I can assure we need it to be working for you guys to have people subscribing to your service like mad here. Unfortunately it says CONNECTING (not connected) and then it displays the attachment message.

Will keep digging; with nordvpn and ExpressVPN I can control which countries to use - it is a double edged sword though cuz nordvpn becomes overwhelming with tons and tons of servers while ExpressVPN lets u choose countries (recommended) ones and couple or max 3 cities to connect to from each. I think this is better than yours just switching on (99% on my phone I connect to DE) while my win10 I connect to GB.

Hope I am helping you guys but I do suggest a couple of connections per country to choose from might be beneficial.

OK thanks Roger. I'm adding another member of our team who has been looking at this area a little bit. In terms of server locations, Lantern basically takes the stance that we're able to automate the process of identifying the fastest server for you better than you are likely to be able to yourself. For example, Lantern will automatically switch to a different proxy if a specific server starts to get overloaded with too many people.

We'll keep trying to debug WhatsApp and will get back to you.

Funny you mentioned UDP. With Nordvpn only type that worked for me was when Obfuscated was on and UDP on. All the rest would never ever work. Gonna try it now and give you feedback.

Update. I killed my WiFi and connected to my LTE. Connection shifted to DE abd browsing and porn again worked with gambling and all BUT WHATSAPP did not work 😔

BTW lantern app crashed like 3 times in the last mn. Prolly needs some tuning since it is beta (the one you sent me) and keeps displaying it cannot check for update (error or something)

Uninstalled the previous version and installed the latest preview. Under wifi and LTE both connected to NL. No connection whatsoever can't even browse normal sites. At least lantern was working for everything except whatsapp now even browsing does not work.

Reported the issues as usual (using wifi and LTE). I am glad even though under lantern there is no net connection yet the app sends logs successfully (magic? 😜.)

On my tablet nvidia shield I have the official lantern version (no Sim so no whatsapp) always connects to GB working perfectly. The built u sent me shows I have zero data left like I am not premium. Can that cause a problem?

Yes, if you're not pro, you won't be getting the same servers. Your log does show a lot of errors trying to connect to servers. You'll need to authorize your phone for pro. Inside of the Lantern app, select menu option "Authorize Device for Pro". Then put in your email address that you used when you signed up for Pro. You'll shortly get an email with a code that you can enter into the UI to re-enable pro functionality.

Hopefully that will get things generally working for you again. If it does, please try enabling "Proxy All Traffic" under "Settings" and see if Whatsapp works then.

Resent LTE and wifi report. What's weird is both connected to GB. My tablet with the official app also connected to GB. (check attachments). Fone with wifi and LTE had no connection while tablet connected to all site including gambling and porn(no whatsapp as I mentioned).

Also did speed test.net on tablet. (kinda slow since I have 100mbps fiber optic)

So UDP is not working that's for sure (even though nordvpn only worked with obfuscated and UDP on)

It's really helpful that you have a working version on your tablet, could you please submit the logs from that as well so that I can compare? Your phone logs are showing a lot of errors connecting to our servers, which is unexpected.

Voice and video calls are blocked. Whatsapp chat with voice messages works perfectly. Telcos started saying Skype, whatsapp and other apps are blocked for SECURITY reasons then a few years ago they felt people looking at them saying you have put Dubai on the world map and you give us such BS? Then they plainly said it it is for revenue.

Thanks for your patience. For some reason, Lantern seems to be starting up differently on your phone than on mine, which is causing some issues. I've updated the preview build with some diagnostics that should help me understand more about what's going on with your phone. Can you please download and re-install from that same link, try to run Lantern and then send an issue report? It would be helpful if you tried turning Lantern off and on a few times.

All VOIP are blocked.

 

Whatsapp works – only voice and video calls are blocked; same if you have skype installed you can chat but voice and video do not and if they do you wo’t understand a thing – they simply block the voice and video ports of apps

2 things:

·         Fix the typo in “unlimited” add the “I” (check attachment) – shows unprofessional when there are English typos ^__^

·         Even though my lantern is pro it shows 0% data and if I go to activate pro it doesn’t let me saying I am pro

Also I remembered a very important point – I CAN’T find lantern VPN on google play!!!! Says ITEM not found (just like when I search for WSOP (world series of poker) app I have to download it from apk sites or aps such as APKPURE or APKMONK

Restarted lantern MANY times.

 

First I connected to NOTHING (check attachment) then shifted to AE then GB then NL back to AE ( as usual I did wifi and LTE connectivities)

 

There is something that really bothers me my 3 devices that I use (PC win10, fone android pie ROOTED and tablet ROOTED oreo) I keep losing the PRO version of lantern – I always have to authorize or add from another device; it is a pain in the neck if you know what I mean
