There are also a number of initiatives in the works including:
The wiki is a great place to read about what's been happening and what we're planning next.
We need volunteers to help make all of these ideas a reality. Below are just a few us the places that we could use your support. If you have an idea, resource, or connection that can help us, we want to hear from you! Contact us by email, volunteer@lansingmakersnetwork.org, or by posting to the Google Group.
We're interested in classes on anything and everything maker related (woodworking, software, electronics, knitting, sewing, metalworking, robotics, tools, etc) and particularly those classes that we can teach without our permanent space being open yet. If you're interested in teaching a class as a fundraiser, we want to hear from you. Let us know what you're interested in teaching and we'll help arrange all of the details.
Spread the word about Lansing Makers Network. We're in the process of designing flyers and other materials to promote Lansing Makers Network, but word-of-mouth is worth every penny. Tell everyone you know about Lansing Makers Network, send them to our website or point them to our Google Group
For information about donating monetarily, contact Carl Raymond, treasurer@lansingmakersnetwork.org. Every little bit gets us closer to our grand opening.
If you have equipment or machines that you're interested in consigning or donating to our space, contact Tim Schmidt, secretary@lansingmakersnetwork.org.
