In early March 1998, "The Hit" could feel the hate on the street, and
the Safeway on Hastings Street was no different when he went to buy
groceries. Little Mike and Mike followed him into the Canada Safeway
at 4440 Hastings Street for the Clan from Clavet. Bob had driven "The
Hit" to stock up on groceries, and the Clan from Clavet kept the
pressure on him. Mike walked up beside him and he said "you're not
dead yet." Little Mike walked past him with a big smile in the
aisles. They were both trapped by the Clan from Clavet, and what
could "The Hit" do? The Clan from Clavet and the 4 junkies could not
kill him directly after the home invasion. They gave up the drugs in
the home invasion in their deal with the Vancouver Police Department.
They could not do much themselves at this point. They were already
informants for the police. They could only try to get the Hell's
Angels and the Cartel to kill him by setting their trap. The Clan
from Clavet and the 4 junkies would do anything to dodge the blame and
promote him as the hit. "The Hit" was no longer afraid of the 4
junkies and the Clan from Clavet. He was afraid of what the Hell's
Angels and the Cartel would believe!

"The Hit" woke up the next afternoon around 3:00 PM, after he slept 8
hours. The Hepatitis C complements of Jimmy The Junkie made him
tired. His testicles hurt, and he was tired all the time. "The Hit"
gathered himself in the effort to go check the mailbox. He dressed,
and he made his way along the same route to the Canada Post mailbox,
except there was no Black Van this afternoon. The mailbox on Springer
Avenue was resting on its side.. The Canada Post mailbox beat like a
drum on the curb. The mailbox was on its right hand side, and the
drum silenced itself resting with the top pointing to the Northwest
Territories. The mailbox was freed by removing the nuts from the
steel bolts which were set in the concrete. Canada Post would not
make it through "rain and snow" this time. Jimmy The Junkie and his
Crew would now have the note, and they would be bringing the note to
the Mysterious Financier. "The Hit" had doubts that he should have
waved the note at them while passing the Black Van, and then on the
other hand this just may put a stop to their activities?

"The Hit" went to the United Airlines counter expressing his problem
after his routine check of the Gate area. He realized the passengers
were all gone now. He found a United Airlines ticket booth, and he
complained. He found himself complaining with the two blond people in
the bar. The United Airline staff put up a good fight, but after
confirmation there had been no notifications on the airport speakers.
They made their routine checks, and they were able to put "The Hit" on
another flight in Terminal 4 in Phoenix. "The Hit" was able to get on
the 16:00 hour flight on US Airways for the non stop flight to
Philadelphia to arrive at 22:19 local time with the blond tagger
following along. "The Hit" had phoned ahead during the delay to let
Bill know that he was not on the original schedule so he should not
pick him up at the airport, so he took the $40.oo dollar cab ride from
the airport to the Westin Hotel where Bill had reserved a room.

On Saturday night Bill and his wife picked "The Hit" up at the hotel
for dinner at a nearby Lone Star Steakhouse & Saloon. They had
dinner, and they discussed the meeting before agreeing to go site
seeing on Saturday. They dropped "The Hit" off at the Westin, and
Bill was going to look into transferring "The Hit" from the Westin
Hotel on Fellowship Road to the Westin Hotel on Island Avenue near the
airport for his final night in Philadelphia. "The Hit" finally had a
few hours to himself on Saturday night to get some sleep. He would be
able to sleep until 11:00 hours on Sunday morning before Bill came by
to pick him up for a tour of the city on Sunday afternoon. The next
morning "The Hit" packed his bag after Bill phoned to let him know he
was able to arrange a transfer to the Westin Hotel on Island Avenue
for his last night in Philadelphia. Then, "The Hit" waited at the
entrance of the hotel with his bag after checking out of his room.

Victoria & Venebles: Star Trailer Court

In Saskatoon, "The Hit" finished his courses at the University of
Saskatchewan, and Leo got his loan at the St. Brieux Credit Union.
"The Hit" had been looking at several places, and he chose a mobile
home in Star Trailer Court on Idlewild & Circle Drive in Saskatoon.
The mobile home was a 3 bedroom, kitchen, living room, washroom, and
laundry area. Leo paid "The Hit" $10,000.00 for his share of the
land, and "The Hit" paid $10,000.00 for the mobile home. This left
"The Hit" with nothing left after the lawyer put the check trough the
account for the trailer. "The Hit" needed money, and he needed a job
quick. He talked to Pat, Dan, and Rob about renting the trailer for
the summer. They decided to give it a try for the summer as "The Hit"
went to St. Brieux to start a job in St. Brieux. "The Hit" didn't
have the cash to get to Lloydminster to get his RD 400 from the Yamaha
in Lloydminster, so he took the bus to St. Brieux. He started working
for Tim Woods at his apiary at the end of April 1980.

Humboldt: Crazy?

The summer of 1980 went quickly. Leo left "The Hit" live on the Rocky
Ridge, and working in Pathlow on the apiary was a learning
experience. They are tame bees, but the don't like loosing their
honey, either. It takes about 50 trips for the bee to make one
teaspoon of honey, and they have an issue with loosing their honey.
The bee beards you might have seen on Television are interesting.
But, the bees are just going to a queen. The bees are happy! We all
need a queen. The bees are not so happy when you steal their honey.
The stolen crates from the hive are heavy with honey. "The Hit"
carried 30 - 80 pound crates to the flatbed truck and trailer as the
wild flowers, Alfalfa, and Canola gave up their honey to the
protective little bees. The bees worked. It's interesting that many
honey bees don't make it home because they wear the outer edges of
their wings off after 3 - 4 weeks during peak honey time .
Eventually, they just don't make it home with a little more honey.
Fall approached in the apiary as "The Hit" approached moving day in
Burnaby.

In the spring of 1980, "The Hit" traded his YZ dirt bike for a 1979
Yamaha Special bike from Dave Gruntman who lived west of St. Brieux.
He used the bike to get back and forth to work in Pathlow that
summer. It was just a quick ride on the # 368 Grid from St. Brieux to
Pathlow, and the spring wound into the summer. Tim and "The Hit"
would have a few beers on occasion in the Pathlow hotel, and after a
hard week of work "The Hit" was stopped by the Melfort RCMP on his way
home to St. Brieux. The RCMP smelt alcohol on his breath, and the
drove him into Melfort 16 miles north of Pathlow. Fate would have it
that he failed the breath test, and "The Hit" was charged with
operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol over .08. He tested .
082 in the Melfort RCMP detachment, and he was released that night.
He called Leo to pick him up in Melfort, and "The Hit" was once again
in trouble with the law that summer.

Jack, Steve, Ray, and "The Hit" walked into the WISE house on Adanac.
There was regularly a row of bikes parked out front of the bar when
"The Hit" started Envirotech in the early 1990's. The dimly lit room
bar on the lower level was almost empty that Sunday afternoon. They
were stopped at the counter / bar on the way into the club. The door
man smiled with recognition, and "The Hit" felt that he knew his
picture. Ray asked if there was someone in the bar to sign the 4 of
them into the house. The door man walked over to the two men sitting
in the middle of the room. The two men looked over at Jack, Steve,
Ray and "The Hit". It was too far to hear their words, however the
stretched body language of the taller, darker haired man did not
appear to be defensive. The heavier blond man appeared to be doing
the talking. The counter man returned to his counter, and he said
there was no one to sign them into the house. "The Hit" felt mixed
with relief that today might not be the day to stand up in the
neighbourhood, and he wondered if the two of them had a vested
interest in not letting the 4 of them into the bar.
