I am about to head back to Sri Lanka for a while over new year and hope to see some of you there and perhaps share some yoga. One part of the current sequence that I am teaching has been particularly challenging. It is near the beginning where we do a forward bend and handstand prep. From there, in my own practice, I do a standing backbend (which is really a spinal lengthening procedure).
In the video you will notice I do a bit of wriggling around. I am basically wriggling around to try to lengthen out of a part of my spine where I have vertebrae rotated and where, as a consequence, I can tend to collapse. I am always doing lots of internal sensing in my body to try and find places where there is 'dis-ease' and support it towards ease.
Much metta,
Samantha
