Please support. All proceeds go to fund education for children in the Vanni

The full moon symbolizes new beginnings. Each breath, each moment holds within it the chance for a new beginning. Come join the special Full Moon Yoga Fundraiser Workshop to unfold your new beginning.

As part of their annual activities, the students of the Science Faculty from Jaffna University are holding exam prep sessions for science and maths subjects for children from the Vanni sitting for the O/L exams this year starting last weekend in Mankulam and will extend as far as Vavuniya and Mannar over the next month.

These are remote areas with limited facilities. Students can barely attend school and tuition classes are a luxury. Some areas do not have electricity and photocopying papers itself requires travelling to a town.

The science faculty students themselves are the resource people and they're not taking any fees for this, but are using it for transport, refreshments and materials such as papers etc.

They are starting the program with their own funds. It seems this is something that is done every year and may account for the sustained intake of entrants to the science and maths faculties even under the most challenging circumstances. Only this year, they've widened their scope as far as Mannar and Vavuniya.

Can we support them so that they can complete the program as planned?

Additional funds will be used to help continue the program and expand the reach to include as many children in the Vanni - the area most affected by the 2009 war - as possible.
