Hi
Since i can't find any post about the update on 3rd party visualizers, maybe I'm wrong, Parameter For Visualizer Statement . there's just no update on this announcement.
I was wondering whether a software like -converter/ is out anywhere?
The Wyg to MA2 converter tool was a great tool to get a quick or massive design into MA3D when away from a beefy wyg machine.

So yeah, if any one knows if Matthias Schffmann is on this forum, can you @ him?
Or if something like the converter tool is in the works please update me.

If you haven't already done so, you should also suggest to CAST that they implement MVR in WYSIWYG. This way anyone would be able to move freely between WYG, MA3, Vectorworks, and anyone else who implements MVR.

Ryan,
Any word on when the 3rd party visualizers will be implemented in MA3? I know it was a back burner item last year but with current situation I can see it as a forefront item with so many Ma3 users looking for ways to learn the MA3 software.

The MVR will be a great addition to Wysiwyg when available or any 3rd party lighting app. But I still will be relaying on wysiwyg for my pre-vis over the MA3D. I just don't like the output of MA3D. It doesn't have the same vision or output I wish to sell to my clients. It does have its use still (MA3D) for that quick on the spot onsite programming session or stage reference which MVR will help greatly in transferring a design between different platforms.

The current setup of needing hardware to use 3rd party visualizers really only downgrades my decision to select MA3 at the moment. I'm locked to only so many parameters. makes it tough to prepare for a show or festival if it will be larger than what I have on hand or if it's over the MA3 onpc specs. That was a nice thing about Ma2, that I could work freely in on a laptop without the need of nodes or wings. kept my bus mates happy

This was an item I brought up to both MA and Act before I bought into the Ma3 line. just surprised it was pushed back so far on the list.
It is something I see Ma and Act glide over as you did above. you did answer the MVR question but nothing on Hakkee first question on the status of 3rd party visualizers. Feels like MA is really wanting to lock users into using only MA3D for visualizing there designs.

Navigate to the network and sharing center of your Visualizer PC by rightclicking on the network icon on the windows desktop and select properties. If the network icon is not shown on your desktop then do a search for"network and sharing center" on your PC and click on the appropriate searchresult to open the network and sharing center window.

Ensure that the network adapter associated with the Ethernet port you connected the Cat5cable to is enabled and assigned an IP address that is within the samesub-network as the console's FixtureNet port. This can be accomplished byassigning the network adapter a static IP address or by using a DHCP routerin the network and assigning the network adapter to "obtain an IP addressautomatically". A typical static IP address configuration is shown in theimage below.

Note: In some cases it may be necessary to also right click and disable the other networkadapters including bluetooth and wireless network adapters to ensure the visualizerapplication is sending data to the appropriate network adapter.

In the Address field enter a value of 1,2,3, or 4. If you enter avalue of 1 then the output ports listed below will act as Hog visualizeroutputs 1>16. If you enter an address value of 2, then the output portsdisplayed below will be interpreted as Hog visualizer outputs 17-32 althoughthey are labeled output ports 1

The DP8000 will now show a "connected" status whichindicates that WYSIWYG is now ready to receive a visualizer data stream froma console. Please note that the "connected" status does not mean WYSIWYG isreceiving a visualizer stream from a console. Proceed to Physically Connecting the Console to the Visualizer for instructions on how toconfigure the console to send a visualizer data stream into WYSIWYG.

When using some versions of Console Edition (CE) WYSIWYG to connect directly to aHog system only one universe of visualization is possible at a time. If yourversion of CE is limited to one universe, you will need to specify which universe isactive within the WYSIWYG file:

The Visualization Universe Selection window will open. This window willdisplay all the currently configured universes within your drawing. Use thiswindow to select the universe you wish to visualize from the console.

Wysiwyg is so simple to use, it has brought me great success in China which has a rapidly developing lighting industry with new local fixtures being made all the time. Cast software is very quick and helpful when I make a custom library request for these new fixtures.Daniel RichardsonLighting Designer,

Wysiwyg is my swiss knife for all my projects from the start to finish. I use it to sell the idea initially to the client, then communicating with technicians when assembling the stage and finally programming the show on site.Raphal GanhyLighting Designer,

During the Rio Olympic Ceremonies, each of our 3 lighting desks had their own wysiwyg system. This allowed us to work when certain elements of our rig were not yet turned on or being maintained, or had been switched off because we had run out of diesel for the generators. There is no doubt in my mind, that along with English breakfast tea and chocolate digestives, without wysiwyg we would not have come anywhere close to the standard of lighting that we achieved in both Ceremonies.Durham MarenghiLighting Designer,

We've used WYG for the best part of a decade and it is top of our toolbox, it's photo realistic portrayal of lighting and video allows us to deliver clients the idea before they invest saving time and money!Jamie ThompsonLighting Designer,

By default, sACN (ratified) and local DMX output is enabled. If you would like to use ArtNet or EDMX, you can turn them on in the Settings menu of the Eos Family welcome screen (a.k.a. "Shell"). You can also set the console to transmit draft sACN from the shell if needed for your system.

In the Tools menu of Capture, select Options. Navigate to the Connectivity tab, and select your network interface card if required. Note that depending upon your PC's configuration, a setting of Automatic may not work; in this case select the appropriate adapter.

Capture executable (presentation) files should also receive these network levels. Note that you may need to install the Capture application in order to use its network adaptor selection tools. Capture is available for download from the Capture website, www.capturesweden.com.

You may need to run an application called NICPicker, which may or may not be packed with Wysiwyg. This application sets which of your network adaptors is used for Net2 traffic. It is available as part of the free download of Network Configuration Editor (NCE) from ETC.

Any visualizer that can receive the supported network protocols listed above should be compatible. The visualizer program that you choose may also support receiving DMX via a DMX-USB converter, though computers running Eos ETCnomad or Cobalt ETCnomad will only transmit DMX via an ETC Gadget DMX-USB interface. Consult your visualizer's documentation for supported receiving devices.

If you need more realistic visualization, or want to visualize your laser effects alongside lighting, XLERATE is designed to work with visualizers including Capture, Depence, Realizzer, and WYSIWYG. We have step-by-step guides for each one below:

XLERATE connects to your control system and optional visualizers using Art-Net, and a selection of visualizer-specific network protocols. To learn more about general lighting network technology and setup, check out our Lighting Network Fundamentals video series.

Note for Onyx users: As of Onyx version 4.2.1057, Onyx will only send Art-Net on an adapter set to a 2.x.x.x IP address and will not allow other applications to access that adapter. Installing a Loopback adapter is the best way to connect Onyx to another Art-Net application on the same PC.

Not all that many years ago, pretty much every webpage on the Internet was, at some level, designed painstakingly by hand. It was tough, and before CSS really took hold and became well supported across most common browsers, it often involved hacking a layout together by using HTML tables in a way they were never really envisioned to support.

While some designers developed workflows completely based around manual editing of raw HTML files, the WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor began to emerge as a tool of empowerment to millions of amateur and professional designers who didn't know, or at least hadn't mastered, the art of hypertext markup.

Products like CoffeeCup, HotDog, FrontPage, GoLive, and many others filled the market, and many web-based WYSIWYG editors emerged as well. Among the more successful was Macromedia (later Adobe) Dreamweaver, which was among my personal favorites for many years.

These web authoring tools weren't just about WYSIWYG editing; even for those who were comfortable with direct authoring of markup language, these tools offered advantages with template control, file management, and simply reducing the time it takes to create functional code.

But just as these helpful editors were expanding access to webpage creation, something else was happening too. Content management systems like Drupal and WordPress (and many, many others before them) displaced the need for the average content producer to need to edit raw HTML at all. You could easily make a functional website without even worrying about the underlying markup.
