Infrared radiation, or infrared light, is a type of electromagnetic wave that is invisible to the human eye, but can be felt as heat. Infrared radiation has a wavelength range of 740 nanometers (nm) to 4 x 10^5 nm, and a frequency range of 300 gigahertz (GHz) to 400 terahertz (THz). Infrared radiation can be divided into three regions: near-infrared, mid-infrared, and far-infrared.
