What are you doing for International Languages Week this year?

Feel free to share your plans on the Forum, to provide some
inspiration to everyone else.

Cheers

We normally ask our kitchen staff to cook particular food and give
them the flag to put up in the dining room for that language/country.
Flag flying is great - one different one each day and it is visible
for all to see. Since I am a French teacher and we only have Japanese
we might look at cuisine from other French speaking countries eg
Moroccan Lamb or tahitian food come to mind. We are focussing more on
our own school international languages, but I would like to find out
what others are doing too. I always wear the old International
Languages Week T-shirt, but it is cold to wear at this time of the
year.

That's great Monsieur D
Food is always a good way to get people interested.

I'm collating a list of events/activities and will be posting more
information shortly.

Here at St Dominic's College in Henderson we are celebrating a week
early (10 -14 August) due to pressures on the College calendar.
All staff will be greeting all classes in a different language each
day. (Japanese, Korean, French, Chinese, Spanish) We plan to sell a
snack related to that country at lunchtime, with local music in the
background and a culturally related activity as well.
