uploading details up front

I've just failed uploading twice, first because my file was too large, then because it was the wrong type. It would be nice to have that info up front, so I wouldn't have to upload several times:
"ndk.tar.gz is not an allowed compressed file. Ensure the file is one of the following types: .zip, .zipx, .7z."
