Outgoing video is just a black box

Apparently under some circumstances the outgoing video doesn't work.
If anyone runs into this problem, please post your OS and browser, and
also please let us know if other Flash sites can access your webcam
(e.g. http://cameroid.com/snap.php).

I have that problem. Just blank boxes.
Mac OS X 10.5.8
Flash 10.1
Firefox 4.0.1

further, in an unrelated note, there are NO users wanting to exchange
with me on the system.
I think the problem is that the interface is all in English so you'l
have it too heavy on one language.

j4p4n, Thanks very much for this. Just one last thing: can you please
check to see if http://cameroid.com/snap.php or chatroulette accesses
your outgoing webcam? If they can't, then the problem is not with
Langolab. If they can, then they're doing something special to get
ahold of your webcam, and I'll have to find out what it is! Thanks

As for the interface being in English: I'll set up a Transifex account
or start using django-rosetta. But I really don't think the problem is
with the interface being in English: non-English speakers are highly
accustomed to seeing English pages on the web and using browsers or
browser add-ons to machine-translate them. I see on Google Analytics
that I've received a total of 8 visits from France over the last week
versus 381 from US. I see 3 from China. I think the problem is that
English learners in France (or China) don't know about the site. I
need to find some way of locating pockets of English learners on the
web so I can notify them of the site's existence en masse. The only
reason so many English speakers found out is because of Reddit!
However, I will still set up Transifex (or http://code.google.com/p/django-rosetta/)
to get the site translated quickly. I can do that this week.

Nope. Still nothing on my end, just two black boxes. Do they take
a long time to load or something? I have fiber optics and I am not
used to waiting more than a minute for a page to load....

Could you please try hard-reset or clearing your browser cache? Also,
are sites like cameroid able to grab your webcam?

In other news, I'm thinking of using Transifex for translation. Still
need to figure out how to get the site in front of lots of foreigners.
