Dear All,

You may be aware that the National Council of Educational Research and Training has updated the training and resource materials under the Adolescence Education Program. We need your inputs to further improve these materials so that they are able to respond to adolescent concerns effectively.

These draft materials are the outcome of a series of consultative workshops in which a wide range of stakeholders, including the national implementing agencies (Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Central Board of Secondary Education, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, National Institute of Open Schooling and Council of Boards of Secondary Education), State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERTs), United Nations (UN) agencies, leading educationists, civil society, social scientists, health professionals, school principals, teachers, and most importantly the adolescents contributed with a lot of enthusiasm. These materials aim to empower young people through participatory, process-oriented, non-judgmental approaches that build on the experiences of learners, provide them with opportunities to critically think analyze, and infer learning rather than prescribing pre-determined set of behaviours.

We are now looking for your feedback to further improve these materials before they are finalized. We would appreciate your feedback on as many of the 17 modules as possible. Please send in your feedback by March 11. Please log on to the NCERT website http://www.ncert.nic.in/index.html and then click on the link -Training & Resource Material on Adolescence Education  (http://www.ncert.nic.in/programmes/aep/aep.html).

Look forward to hearing back from you!

Regards,

Gurminder Singh
