Hello Liba,

Thanks for your interest in this neighborhood issue.

This particular lane abuts 24 lots on the block of Ivy/Bertrand/Vaughan/Putman, and many of the owners and residents of those lots are considering various actions at this time. We will continue working with the City to try to resolve the issue reasonably for all those who are directly affected.

We appreciate the concern of other New Edinburgh residents, and we will let try to keep you apprised of the situation as it evolves.

Kind regards and Happy New Year.

David,

Was at the December 20th meeting about the lane way being opened between Ivy and Vaughn
from Bertrand down to at least 169 Ivy, and wonder what are your next steps.
Could not stay until the end. Had dogs to walk.
Am not keen on seeing the lane "just opened" for any reason. So what?

Although the survey has been completed, it is possible for the neighbours to get an injunction and go to court.
We can take the city to court.  Why not?  I love trees.  This could be done.
Lots of us have  legal connections and experience.
We could keep the lane closed until all those that want to buy the property from the city could do so, if they are selling it.
That would probably include Nino and the other corner affected by the new owners of 169 Ivy's request.
The new owners will build the garage, but it could be used as a shed if we are successful in court.
Am sure there are some similar cases in other cities, or maybe even in Ottawa.

The thing is, there is no city lane way between Ivy and Noel or Noel and Dufferin.
And just because the other side of the lane way is opened, does not mean it needs to be opened.
OR have you already decided on what to do?

Happy December 30th.

Keep safe and protect your property while in and out of town.
