Hi folks,
Regarding the proposed opening of the laneway in the north block of Ivy/Putman/Vaughan/Bertrand, I think we're now at the stage where we should book a venue for a town hall style meeting with invitations/notices sent to:
- the residents & owners of the affected block
- the new owners at 169 Ivy and their architect
- the City: Alain Miguelez, Program Manager, Zoning and Intensification
- our local Councillor, Peter Clark
- reps from NECA and CCCC
- other interested members of the public
I am thinking the Stanley Park Fieldhouse, Thursday, 20 December at 7:00 p.m.
!!! Can anyone give me the details on how to book the fieldhouse?? !!!
Feedback on this date and time, please.
I want to have this meeting soon (obviously), but after we get the new laneway survey results (likely mid-Dec), and before the Christmas rush, and as well as giving us time to collect and analyze the data from our recent questionnaire.
I also want there to be some time between now and the 20th for us to focus on the key questions we need to ask the City, and for the City to have a chance to research their answers. For example, a question I just sent to Alain Miguelez this morning:
- According to the City, what is the status of the laneway - open or closed? -
Obviously, if the City says it's open (according to rules, at least, and not obviously in function for the last several decades!), then we have more homework to do.
If this time and date are fine with the majority of block residents & owners, and other invitees, then we can start thinking about agenda.
I am proposing something like this, for a two-hour meeting max (allowing for some overtime) :
____________________________________________________________________

20 min. 7:40 - 8:00 Structured Q&A: reps of block owners & residents (and NECA and CCCC if they wish)
present key questions* of common interest, for responses from the City
*(these key questions to be collected, drafted and circulated ahead of time!)

15 min. 8:25 - 8:40 Unstructured Q&A and Comments:

05 min. 8:40 - 8:45 Closing remarks and thanks to attendees
____________________________________________________________________
1:45 min. total, with 15 min. allowance overtime
____________________________________________________________________
Again, feedback on this agenda is welcome, and can adjust until we generally feel that we're being fair to all concerned.
If there is media interest, we also should assume some time after the meeting to brief reporters.
Regards,
