Understanding the ACHD 5 Year Moratorium Layer

ACHD gave this explanation for the general procedure of expiring roads: Our utility staff removes them about once a month. It’s not on a set schedule, but in theory they are removed 5 years to the month after the create date. Also, take note that the roads with a 0 in the year column do not ever come off the road moratorium list. These roads require special permission to cut.

If you are interested in utilizing the ACHD 5 Year Moratorium Layer, please follow the below directions. As a Professional user, you can import specialized data layers during individual map sessions. Alternatively, Ultimate Users can select to have them load in their map by default. As an Ultimate User, you can visit your Tool Preferences to check a box for this layer as well as many other specialized layers to load automatically upon launching the Map.

1. Login to landproDATA and launch the Ada County Map.

4. Find the attribute labeled "created_da", in this case we can see two streets with dates of 2019-11-21 and 2019-12-13. We can now determine that the end date for these roads is 5 years to the month from the recorded date listed.
