1. Go to Tool Preferences (under the MY ACCOUNT TAB) and place a check mark next to the FEMA Data folders. Click SAVE PREFERENCES. Doing so will load the FEMA layers into the folders in your Layer Legend in the Water Folder:

3. Now that you’re on the map, Go to the Layer Legend, open the Water Folder, open the FEMA folder and turn on the Flood Hazard Area, LOMA and LOMR.

4. This particular property does lie in a Flood Hazard Area with the AE designation (An area designated AE presents a 1 percent annual chance of flooding), however, note that there are LOMAs (Letter of Map Amendment) and a LOMR (Letter of Map Revision) area nearby. These revisions should be examined to determine if the property in question has been removed from the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA).

5. Click the Select Button in the top left corner of your map screen and then draw a box around the property and surrounding area including the LOMAs and LOMR.

6. The results of your selection can be reviewed by clicking the links in the REPORTS menu in the Task Pane.

Examining the LOMA & LOMR reports, I found a LOMA report referencing Lakeland Subdivision No 5 where the property in question is located. Click on the Flood Map Documents Search link to go to FEMA's website.

Once on the FEMA website, enter the Case Number into the Product Search Field and click the Search Button.

Download the LOMA report and verify that the Lot & Block of property in question is listed in the report. This amendment excludes this parcel and several others from being in the flood plain and thus does not require flood insurance.
