Buffer:
The Buffer tool allows you to create a Buffer around a selected area. You can customize the distance around the selected feature. You can also name the buffer layer as well as customize the color and opacity.
Note, the Buffer tool is unlocked at the Ultimate User level. Don't forget you can temporarily Upgrade to Ultimate by selecting the Upgrade icon in the Dashboard.
Example: If you are trying to obtain a Mailing list, this a great tool to utilize. By creating a Buffer you can select all parcels within and view them via Reports in the Task Pane.
Buffer Example:
After you have created a Buffer around your selected parcels, look to the Task Pane again. By clicking on Select Parcels, this will highlight all of the parcels touching your newly created Buffer.
With those parcels from your Buffer now highlighted, you then have a couple more options available in your Task Pane. Clicking on the Parcel List will generate a list of those parcels which you can then export to Excel.
Alternatively, you also have the option of viewing the list of those selected parcels and exporting them to Excel via Reports. You can accomplish this by going to the Task Pane > Reports. Click on Parcels under Reports. This will open up a new page with a list of your selected Parcels. With the reports page open you can then click on the Excel button which will export your list to an Excel format.
