Tool Preferences:

Tool Preferences are split up into four categories. Those categories are Dashboard, Counties, Map Layers, and Map Widgets. See below for further explanation of each category of Tool Preferences. While logged in, find the My Account drop down and select Tool Preferences, see below example.

Dashboard Preferences:

Under this category you can change what you see on your Dashboard after logging in. You can customize which related data you want displayed for your home page. Data such as User Messages, My Company Data, My Private Data, and Watch List. If you wish to remove any of the tiles that are available you can do that here.

Along with the Dashboard interface you also have the option of limiting your Dashboard Search results to specific criteria such as only Commercial Listings, Subdivisions, Applications, or only My Company Data. You can also limit how many results you want display from your Search.

County Preferences:

This category is as simple as it sounds. Here you can check which Counties you want displayed on your Map. If you are only working on one County this is where you could make the choice of deselecting specific Counties you know you won't need data for. Like the Dashboard Preferences you can also limit your Search results to only include the Counties you have selected in your preferences.

Map Layers Preferences:

Under the Map Layers category you can choose what layers you want readily available to you upon launching the Map. If you want something to be immediately visible on the Map upon launch, you need to check what layers you want imported. Map Layers are separated into two primary sections.

1. Critical Layers are those layers deemed most important to your Map use. Those layers include My Data, Parcels Data, Subdivisions, and Surveys.

2. Managed Layers are those layers that are more specialized or focused on an area of importance. Those layers include Boundaries, Cities, Zoning, Water, Roads, and more.

Unmanaged Layers Preferences:

We consolidated the more miscellaneous layers together and organized them under the Unmanaged Layers section. To utilize these layers in the Map you must select and import them as a custom layer using the Unmanaged Layers function via the Task List. However, if you are an Ultimate User you have access to the below Tool Preference of selecting which layers you want imported into your Map upon launch. Examples of these Unmanaged Layers include school districts, city/boundaries, zoning, contour lines, water rights, boundaries/tax areas, roads, sewers, and more.

Quick Tip: If there is a specific layer you can't find, try to search the Tool Preferences page by using the keyboard shortcut "Ctrl+F". After hitting the find shortcut, a dialog box will open where you can type in the layer/layers you are looking for.

Map Widgets Preferences:

Under the Map Widgets category you can choose what tools you want available for use in your Map. This section of Tool Preferences is useful if you find there is a tool you really don't use and want out of the way. Note, the below highlighted tools are only available to Ultimate Users. You of course have the ability to temporarily Upgrade your account to Ultimate for 2 hours by utilizing your User Credits.
