To determine the weight of one serving, prepare the recipe as instructed. Weigh the finished recipe, then divide the weight of the finished recipe (not including the weight of the container the food is in) by the desired number of servings. Result will be the weight of one serving.

I was never a bartender or waitress, but I do love to eat and really appreciate the difference in flavors. When I traveled often I got into a conversation once with a bartender about the fact that I was from Texas. He was a wealth of knowledge on everything behind the bar and gave me the best lesson I have ever had on margaritas. He told me that when you make them Texas style they always have a splash of orange juice and that has been my secret ingredient ever since.
The EatingWell Test Kitchen is comprised of a group of culinary professionals who develop and test our recipes. Our recipes go through a rigorous process, which includes testing by trained recipe testers, using different equipment (e.g., gas and electric stoves) and a variety of tools and techniques to make sure that it will really work when you make it at home. Testers shop major supermarkets to research availability of ingredients. Finally, a Registered Dietitian reviews each recipe to ensure that we deliver food that's not only delicious, but adheres to our nutrition guidelines as well. Virgin margaritas have lime juice and orange juice, fresh squeezed. A classic homemade margarita is made with lime juice and triple sec, which is an orange liquor. For that reason, I used lime juice and fresh squeezed orange juice.
Whenever we entertain I like to make sure we have plenty of non-alcoholic drinks available for party designated drivers, nondrinkers and of course the kids. This nonalcoholic Margarita Punch recipe is one that I turn to again and again over the years.
I serve this punch in a punch bowl or large pitcher with a bottle of tequila and shot glass nearby so it can be spiked for those that want an alcoholic version. If making this in a big batch and you want to add tequila, add 1.5 cups to the recipe below and adjust for taste/strength.
This is AWESOME!!! I just made this for a party of about 50 people and it was gone in no time. It was at work so we knew we couldn't have the tequila (t'kill-ya, as I call it!), but it was a huge hit! Thank you so much for posting this recipe! ?
Like many mocktails, for decades non-drinkers have been forced to enjoy a virgin margarita that consists purely of margarita mix, making for a sugary sweet mocktail that lacked the smokey bite added by the tequila. But these days are over, thanks to companies like Ritual Zero Proof, who produces a delicious alcohol-free tequila alternative that can be used to spice up your non-alcoholic margarita.
Finding a non-alcoholic margarita recipe that actually tastes authentic can be a challenge. Many versions I tried just tasted like citrus juice and lacked the boozy component that makes a great margarita. But with determination and a bit of trial and error, I discovered the secret ingredient that gives this mocktail that signature margarita flavor: non-alcoholic orange bitters. They make all the difference.
From there, you'll add a generous dose of non-alcoholic orange bitters (the secret ingredient!) then pour into an ice filled cocktail shaker and shake until combined. Or add all drink ingredients (including sparkling water) and ice into the pitcher of a high powered blender and blend until smooth.
From a cocktail shaker, pour into ice filled tumblers and top with a bubbly cap of sparkling water. (Plain sparkling water or club soda work well, but orange or lime flavored versions add an additional pop of citrus.) Or pour blended virgin margaritas into tumblers or margarita glasses.
I also love muddling a fresh jalapeño slice or two into my virgin margaritas, a step that seems to make any mocktail decidedly more complex and cocktail-ish. But whether you make your drink spicy or not, it will still be wonderfully tangy, delicious, and refreshing.

To make the virgin strawberry margaritas, simply add all of your fresh fruit, juices, agave and blend. Then add the ice and pulse until blended as smooth as you like them. I like my margaritas pretty smooth so the ice is tiny pebbles.

I originally posted this Virgin Frozen Margaritas recipe alongside my Cherry Empanadas. These are a great knock-off of a dessert I love from a fast food restaurant. And the perfect dessert for Cinco de Mayo. Combine those empanadas, this virgin margarita recipe, and your favorite taco or enchilada recipe, and you are ready for the perfect Mexican-inspired dinner.
Deliciously soft and moist margarita cupcakes begin with a simple sweet lime cupcake base and are topped with fluffy tequila lime frosting. Like classic margaritas, these cupcakes are full of zippy, fresh lime flavor. See my recipe note for a non-alcoholic version. Cheers!
I have made these cupcakes twice! They have been a big hit every single time. Once they were even a hit at a Mexican restaurant. They declared it tasted just like a margarita. This is definitely going into my recipe box.
Hi Angela, the frosted cupcakes will be fine stored at room temperature for up to a day, or for up to 3 days in the refrigerator. For longer storage, see make ahead/freezing instructions in the recipe Notes.
Strawberries: yes, this healthy mocktail recipe focuses on fresh fruit! Since strawberries are in season, I say go for the fresh fruit! It will be cheaper as well when purchasing in a grocery store, or you could even go strawberry picking, which is one of my favorite summertime activities ? Great for kids and adults alike!
Yep, the maple syrup is completely optional. I personally love this virgin strawberry margarita recipe without maple syrup. I think the strawberry puree is full of natural sweetness since strawberries are very in season right now!

For this virgin margarita recipe, I used the zest and juice of two limes, Zevia lime-flavored sparkling water, a little bit of agave, and some water. The sparkling water made this virgin marg feel extra grown up and also added a nice punch of lime flavor without watering down the drink.
Lime sparkling water: I used Waterfords Tahition Lime for this recipe and it was delicious. You can use any brand of lime sparkling water, or Limeaid (which we don't have in Australia!). Just watch the sugar content.
When I was testing the recipe I had rather large debates with my testers about the rim! Personally I love a classic salt rim. Do not use table salt, use kosher or sea salt instead. It tastes delicious with the bitter flavour of the margarita.
Welcome! I'm Nat. It can be tricky to find alcohol alternatives that are healthy and delicious. I bring you nutritional mocktail recipes and inspiration so you can still have fun, enjoy the celebration, and bounce out of bed the next day, feeling fresh and energized.
I'm currently in the middle of my second pregnancy and around this time of year, with cinco de mayo around the corner, I start craving a classic margarita. I think it's the combination of tiredness and the warmer days. I've leaned into this craving instead of fighting it and started whipping up mocktail recipes and virgin drinks so I can feel like I'm enjoying a fun drink too!
If you've ever tried virgin margarita mix, you know how sweet it be due to all the added sugars. I wanted something more natural so this virgin margarita recipe is made with fresh juices, agave, and sparkling water to give it a pop of fizz making it taste just like the the real thing, without the tequila. The sweetness from the agave nectar and pomegranate juice perfect balance out the tartness from the fresh lime juice making it the perfect drink to cool you off on a hot day.
You can make this margarita mocktail recipe frozen or on the rocks. To make the drink on the rocks, you will want to shake the ingredients in a cocktail shaker or mason jar with ice to chill it, and then pour it into a glass with ice.
