to Landcrab
Hi everyone,
My lovely 1966 Landcrab has been sounding a bit rough of late, but
with xmas etc I figured I'd just give her a tune-up in the new year.
Probably a bad move. Yesterday when I drove her I noticed that the
steering wheel was shakey and she was pulling to the left. I figured
since I hadn't bumped anything, that perhaps the brakes were
binding.
Anyway, finally got around to looking at her this morning... and she
has a broken driver's side engine mount at the front, but since it's
the one big mount, the whole driver's side mount gets replaced. The
driver's side of the engine in now touching the sump guard. I assume
that this is what's caused the problem with handling, as the tilt
would throw the wheel angles off.
My question is how to replace the mount in the easiest possible
manner? There really doesn't look like there's much room to manoevre
down there. And of course my manuals only mention removing and
replacing engine mounts in the context of removing and replacing an
engine... a job I hope never to have to do again! Any advice on
procedure would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Angela.
