Hi all.
I have a mark 2 ute which has now done 7 variety bashes across
Australia. About 3 years ago, the slipflex bearings on the front
suspension wore out. Unable to find replacement parts, we decided to
change the front suspension to Mark 1 type which has roller bearings.
We changed the upper arm and hub.
The problem now is that we have to put a washer over the tapered
washer in order to be able to fix the axle nut with a split pin,
otherwise the nut goes too far past the hole in the axle.
This has fixed the problem for a time except that now the passenger
side nut, despite the split pin in situ becomes loose after a long
run.
Is the problem with the hub, axle, or do I need new tapered washers?
