Daryl and Patrick asked for help in June but I had a cardiac event and was in hospital. Had my op 26 July and getting better. In middle of cardiac rehab now.
I would try and help in some way if Daryl and Patrick interested or others will help to keep LOCA alive.

When I was sick in July last year I paid the annual fees twice!

What has happened to the records of membership and money etc?

Cheers,

Tony

Hi guys-
A little late reply to this messge from 4 years ago.
I've been living in the UK since 2007 but have now returned to Melbourne with a British wife for good.
My Austin Kimberley has had a re-spray in the meantime and is looking good although all those years on a farm have paid their price elsewhere, pic attached.
After searching the internet for some time it seems LOCA is no longer which is a huge pity.
I'm guessing the austin 1800 & bluestreaksix are the main sources/websites at the moment, correct?
I'm keen to become a member despite my mechanical knowledge of zip - I do know about hearts, been working in cardiology for 15 years now, trusting you're now fighting fit Tony.
Looking forward to your replies.
All the best
Troy

Hi Landcrabbers

One of my favourite cars in my past was a succession of Austin 1800's owned by myself, my late Dad, and most of my mates!  I even had an early ute too.

Unfortunately, in some ways, I have moved on to concentrate on the other great love of my life (apart from Judy) - MG's.

At my factory I have what was reputed to be a hydrolastic pump from a BMC dealer.  Freestanding four legged silver box with handles out the front.

I found it during a clean-up and it seems stuck fast but if anyone wants it to take away free to try to reco it or for a sentimental addition to their man shed please give me a call on mobile & we can arrange a time to pick it up.

My factory is in Moorabbin and is unattended but I can bring it home to Brighton if it is easier for anyone to pick up after hours.

I would feel very guilty if Mr Sims were to be the next owner of it! (aka Simsmetal)

Best Regards

John Baragwanath

Hi John,

I am interested in the hydrolastic unit if still available and my parents live in Brighton, so you could drop it off or i could pick it up when there.

Parents live near Dendy Street just off Hampton Street (just sort of in that corner behind the shops on Hampton Stret), hydrolastic pump would go well with Austin 1800 rally car.

If available let me know (icom...@bigpond.net.au)

Regards

Ian

Hi Troy,

This landcrab google group is no longer used. The moderator went missing several years ago, and despite numerous attempts to contact google, we could not get google to grant moderator access to anyone else. This effectively meant that no new members can join this group and has killed off the group.

Consequently a new Austin 1800 discussion group was setup and everyone moved over to:
https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!forum/austin1800

You'll find it's the same old friendly crowd over there.

I believe the Austin A40 club in Melbourne, despite it's name is now caters for all models of Austin. But if you jump onto the new Austin 1800 forum and ask the question there I'm sure someone will be able to advise you better than me as the Austin Motor Vehicle Club of NSW is my closest club.

Oh, and by the way I'm also the webmaster of the Blue Streak Six site you mentioned. :-)

Cheers,

Eriks

So my original email was: Greetings John, Yes please.  I am in Parkdale and can collect in 30 minutes  Thanks  Tony  Anthony Lawman 0433397211. Umm I have been trying to post for eleven minutes now and keep getting message that the cc address is invalid. I welcome advice on how to post - if this goes through

Thanks for the reply Eriks -
I've jumped onto the 1800 already.
Will checkout the A40 club too.
All the best
