Hi Folks,

It's with great pleasure that I can announce that this forum has a new
home to move to. After spending some time investigating a number of
alternative options we decided to stay with Google Groups as we're
already familiar with them, they're free and seemed to do the job OK. We
have set up a new Google Group called "Austin1800".

The new Google group has 3 owner/moderators so we shouldn't see a repeat
of what happened to this forum when we lost our one and only moderator.

The moderators on the new forum are:

Ian Batty (ETN217)
Peter Collingwood (Poida)
Eriks Skinkis (Eriks)

Ian will be looking after the day to day validation of new users joining
the group. Peter and I will be the backup moderators, and can also step
in at anytime to help Ian if he gets overworked or wants to go on holidays.

While the existing landcrab group will continue to function for those
that are current users, no new users will ever be able to join. We would
like to encourage everyone to move over to the new Austin1800 group and
start using it for all future discussions. You'll also find the new
group a lot easier to use, we've set it up so that when you reply to a
message, the reply automatically goes back to the group. The old
Landcrab group will remain as an archive if anyone wants to do any
searches on the old discussion topics.

To kick off the new group with a bit of fun I'm going to put up a lucky
door prize for people joining the new Austin1800 group. Anyone who joins
between now and Wednesday 4th August will go in the draw for a really
handsome prize. One person will be drawn out at random to receive an
Austin 1800 Parking Sign. This competition is open to everyone including
our overseas friends.

All you need to do is go to: http://groups.google.com/group/austin1800
then click on the "Apply for group membership" link on the right hand
side of the screen, then answer the prompts.

See you all over there.

Eriks
