If an app seems stuck in a language that is different from your System languages, you might be able to reset the app if you . Some apps only let you change the language from within the app or an associated app-specific account.

I'm studying mandarin and want to change the language of my Android smartphone (Sony Xperia) between english/mandarin (or english/mandarin/portuguese/spanish) faster than using the default system settings. The way it is, I have to enter settings, scroll to the middle of it (which is slower than if it was on the beginning or end of the list), click Language & input, click language, have to scroll all the way down to 中文 (it should already be at the top, among the "recently used languages", but only my native language is always there), click 中文 and finally click ok.

I would like to reduce those 6+ clicks to a single button in the quick settings area (there is space for 4 more icons): when the phone is in a language, a tap on the icon would change to the next language, holding the icon would open a menu to add/remove languages/change order/etc.

I'm new to Android development, so I don't know if it's possible for an app to change the system language (need root privileges? I want it for myself, even if I won't be allowed to share it on Google Play, for instance). I've seen many answers on how to change an app language, that's not what I'm looking for. I also found many apps in Google Play, all of them promising to "quick toggle system language" etc, but none of them worked on my device. The closest I got was this, but looks like a dead thread.

Yeah, I had the beta version manually installed from GitHub, to the play store but just did and it does indeed not want to change the language from the play store, even though it does when using the same version apk I downloaded from GitHub. Weird. But it works in the release before and the current alpha release. I would say wait until the next version and it should be resolved.

Hi everyone, just tested the latest update 2.2.8 in the About, android 10, the language choice has no effect. It remains displaying everything in English, even if the chosen language is displayed correctly in the selector. Tried adding new keyboards, language in Android, no changes, the issue remains. Thanks, SB.

Hi Kokroo, I installed it from Play Store. Tried also on Android 7, same issue, tested on Android 11, it works. So, probably related to the way the call is done to change the language, or to the Android versions supported >=11.

If you're bilingual or studying a new language, your Galaxy phone can help you out. You can set multiple languages on your phone and even set a different default language. It's great for practicing your language skills or just using the language you're most comfortable with.

For example i have slovak android and kaspersky was installed (english version) i am going change systm language to czech and run kaspersky (kaspersky is now in czech language) now you can change back system language... Your kaspersky should stay in language which you can... This works for me.

Great question DAMESP33, I know how important it is to be able to access your phone/apps in your prefered language. The settings for the My Verizon application should be tied to the default language set on your phone, so when you change the language on your device it should update the applications that you run on it. What kind of phone are you using?

To change language for texts, you can do it from the message screen itself. Just choose any contact, like you were going to send a text, once the keyboard is up, just hold down the spacebar, and a menu pops up. You can select the language(s) you want by checking the box next to it. Unchecked boxes won't appear as language options , and you can even delete language options by clicking on the trash ️ symbol, checkmark any you don't want, and they won't list as language options anymore. I had to figure this out on my own, my phone just started randomly using a language I didn't understand, and Verizon provides no tutorial that I could find, to fix it. Hope this helps you!

To change your billing language to Japanese or English, follow the steps below depending on where your billing portal is located in the left navigation menu of the Zoom web portal. Not sure how to identify where your billing portal is located? Learn how to locate your billing settings.

You can set the display and editing or authoring languages independently from each other. For example, you may want the display language to be English, but the document you're writing or editing is in French.

In Office, the language options are in the Office Language Preferences dialog box. The display and authoring languages can be set independently. For example, you could have everything match the language of your operating system, or you could use a combination of languages for your operating system, authoring, and display.

Select the language you want, and then select Set as Preferred. If you want your Office display language to match the display language you have for Windows, select Match Microsoft Windows [Language].

If the language you want appears in the list, select it, and then select Set as Preferred. If the language you want is not listed, select Add a language, and then follow the instructions in the Add an authoring language dialog box.

If the language accessory pack includes proofing tools for that language, its status appears as Proofing installed. If the status is Proofing available, click the link to install the proofing tools.

In Office, the language options are in the Set the Office Language Preferences dialog box. The display and help languages can be set independently. For example, you could have everything match the language of your operating system, or you could use a combination of languages for your operating system, editing, display, and Help.

If your language already appears among the editing languages press Set as Default. Otherwise select the language from the Add additional editing languages list then press the Add button. The new language will appear in the list of editing languages.

Under Proofing, if your language shows as Installed, you're ready to go. Otherwise press Not installed and Office will take you to a page where you can download the necessary Language Accessory Pack for that language. Follow the instructions on that page to download and install the pack, then come back to the Office Language Preferences dialog box to confirm that it's now installed.

If you've already set your Microsoft Windows display language to be the language you want Office to display in you can leave this set to Match Microsoft Windows. Otherwise select your language and press Set as Default to move that language to the top of the list. The language that is listed first is the one Office will use for its menus and buttons. Please note, if your Windows display language is not also installed in Office, your Office display language will appear in the next language in the display list.

Download the proper Language Accessory Pack for the language you want to use from this page: Language Accessory Pack for Office. The Language Accessory Pack contains the display and proofing tools for most languages, but you can still choose to have your display in one language and editing or authoring in another.

User Interface - The display language for Office for Mac uses the primary language set for operating system. To change the display language for Office for Mac, you need to set a different primary language for your operating system:

User Interface & Editing - The display and keyboard languages for Office for Android is the same as the language that the device is set to. You can configure those by going to Settings > Language and Input.

User Interface & Editing - The display and keyboard languages for Office for iOS are the same as the language that the device is set to. See Change the language on your iPhone or iPad for instructions.

User Interface - The best way to set the display language in Office for the web is to set the language in the host where your documents live. That's usually OneDrive, SharePoint, Dropbox, etc. When you open a document from one of those sites, Office Online will use the display language you have that service set to.

I'm using the "Shopify - Your Ecommerce Store"-app from the Google Play Store. The app is installed on an android (using Android 11) device used by my employees, so they can create products, take pictures of products and manage online orders, without having to use a computer.

The devices we are using are bought overseas. This means the android-firmware on the devices are missing the Danish language for Android that we are using in my country, meaning the device language is in English.

Bought a phone from China or selected the wrong language when setting up your phone? No need to worry. You can easily change the system language on your Android phone by heading into the settings. You can also add as many languages as you want, which is helpful for bilingual users. We'll show you how to do it in this easy guide.

To make things easier for you, I switched the language on my phone to Simplified Chinese (the language that's installed by default on phones in China), and in the guide below I'll show you how to change it to English.
