Hi colleagues,

I‘ve learned that the Lively-Fulcher firm has FINALLY finished a French romantic style organ in St. Matthew’s Catholic Cathedral Washington D.C., with an opening recital on Friday night 20 September by Nathan Laube. Confronted with that instrument, one could spend lots of time guessing what he would play to “show it off.” Given that I’ve just taken up a review of the Grand Symphonic Piece of Franck, I’d be thrilled to hear him play that piece on that organ!! I would arrange a “house sitter” for my wife in my absence.

I’d be pleased to share my Prius with up to three riders OR to be a rider in someone else’s car and buy you the gas. It would likely be wise to leave Lancaster at 1 p.m. or so and get into he fith before the 4 - 8 p.m. traffic gets so terrible. That would give time for dinner somewhere and to park early enough near the cathedral to avoid problems.
