Hi, fellow AGO-ers,

I think I’ve shared with you that I’m to play a one-hour-only recital for St. Anthony’s on 26 Jan 2020, when they kick off the 150th anniversary of their parish at intermission time for perhaps 15 or more minutes. In my old age, I try to do stop registration or normal practice not more than two hours at a time. I can just hardly stand it.

So I was there yesterday to do more registration for 26 January, and the guy who oversees such things there told me that they have contracted through Karen McFarlane concert management for one of the Notre Dame Cathedral, Paris, organists to play what might be the closing event of their 150th celebration on Sunday 4 October 2020. I suspect that we will want to avoid that date for an organ recital elsewhere in Lancaster! It would be as big a deal as when Reg Lunt had Pierre Cochereau playing at First Presbyterian lots of years ago or the Duruflé couple twice at that church. Seats were in short supply for those events!
