Last week I glimpsed a blood-red abdomen being chased offby a common darter. Not enough for a verified record for what I guess is a new species for the site (but perhaps recorded prior to 2010?), but now I am sure as I saw at least two males today.

Colin,
Do you think these are migrants with the recent weather?
Yesterday, when I saw a male at Brockholes,  I also saw another probable in flight nearby. The rest of the pool is difficult to cover because of overgrown vegetation. There could be others.
Although mine was holding territory, I think they are almost certainly  migrants.

I suspect it is dispersal from the coastal strongholds.
