A male was on Smithills Moor on 25 August at
SD671127

Actually in Bolton not Lancs and first record for GM. But it seems they may be on the move.

Steve.

Thanks, Steve.
Is Wigan not in GM?

Allen,

You are quite right of course. But I don't know of any records in Wigan. My posting the other day was of Small Red-eyed Damsel - unless I made a mistake with that.

Steve.

Sorry Steve,
It was my mistake. I thought you were talking about the Small Red-eyed. I have asked a few people if Wigan was in GM as I did not know if the Small Red-eyed at Burnley was a first breeding record for Lancs or not. I know that strictly speaking it needs exuviae to confirm breeding but if a female is ovipositing, it is good enough for me.
Incidentally Jen Coates has photographed Ruddy Darter at the same site today, possibly the 20th species for the site.
Allen.
