This morning I photographed a solitary male Common Hawker (Aeshna juncea) on both South and New Ponds at Priory Meadow (thanks to my wonderful new Nikon Z9 camera, although I got so many id shots in the end that I think I would have got at least one using the old D810). It was also present on North Pond early on (10:30), when I assumed I was seeing a Migrant Hawker, but the behaviour was very odd, and there are no reeds on that pond. Mystery cleared up when I got the photos.
