I am compiling a new list of people that may be interested in serving as block captains. The main focus of our network will be to disseminate information to our neighbors, collect concerns and keep a watchful eye for suspicious circumstances that need to be reported to the authorities.
Initially neighbors will be defined as the three houses to the left and right of a block captain and the six houses across the street. Block captains can overlap and share their commitment. In the event some houses will be vacant for a block captain, the houses will be monitored for property violations and signs of vandalism.
There is no set limit on the length a person can be a block captain and the position can be resigned at any time. Neither will there be mandatory meetings though time with other block captains is encouraged and will be arranged for people interested.
