Linux mint is one of the 4th most popular linux variant used in open source community.
Recently, i got to a chance to install it on my desktop and it was really cool. The best part is it both a live(can operate with dvd) and installable too.
Here are steps for installing linux mint on your systems.
1. First decide weather you want to go for 32 bit or 64 bit. (
http://www.linuxmint.com/download.php)
i chose a 64 bit os.
2. i downloaded the iso from the nearest location (
http://iso-linuxmint.hnsdc.com/stable/15/linuxmint-15-cinnamon-dvd-64bit.iso)
3. i burned it into a dvd.
There you go , i just inserted the burned DVD into my system and that it , i got a good experience on the Linux mint.
If you want to install linux mint on your system, while on linux mint which is booted via the DVD
Menu => All Applications => Install mint
The installer will ask you some questions which are self explanatory.
All the best,
Thanks,
