I was looking for an answer to a question I have regarding
linux/apache/mysql/php and came across this forum and thought I'd sign
up.
Recently i've been looking into the open source mambo CMS system to run
a couple of test websites under. Mambo requires a LAMP setup which I
have setup in the past through compiling the apache source with support
for mysql and php. Unfortunately, using this method 'breaks' the RPM
database (I run Fedora Core 4) since it won't know about the
installation of apache.
This time I was hoping to be able to either find a recent version of
apache2 compiled with php and mysql support which has been put into an
RPM that I can just install, or find a way to compile my own apache2
and make my own RPM from it. Would this be possible? and if it is, is
it very difficult?
Cheers,
Mick
Fedora Core 4 is shipped with
httpd-2.0.54-10, php-5.0.4-10, php-mysql-5.0.4-10, mysql-4.1.11-2,
mysql-server-4.1.11-2
All these packages(RPMs) are available at
http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/4/i386/os/Fedora/RPMS/
Isn't it sufficient to set up LAMP?
