Lead Software Engineer – Security / Integrations (Cryptography & Cloud)

Location: USA only (100% Remote)
Duration: 12+ Months | Contract to Hire

Work Authorization:  Any Visa (preferred USC or GC)

 

Role Overview

We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer with a strong security background and hands-on experience or exposure to cryptography. This role is for someone who can work as an individual contributor initially and later lead and guide an outsourced full-stack development team.

 

The engineer will help build and scale automated cryptographic security tooling used in security- and compliance-sensitive environments.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Design, architect, and develop secure backend services and integrations across cloud and enterprise platforms
• Build a scalable cryptographic asset discovery and inventory engine
• Develop agentless discovery workflows, with support for optional agent-based modules
• Integrate with major cloud providers: AWS, Azure, and GCP
• Integrate with enterprise and security platforms such as:
• ServiceNow (CMDB)
• Tanium, Tenable, CrowdStrike
• Build and maintain secure APIs, data models, and service logic
• Contribute to AI-driven risk scoring and prioritization related to cryptographic assets
• Support certificate, key, and protocol lifecycle visibility and management across distributed systems
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment workflows
• Collaborate closely with the founding/core engineering team and influence architecture decisions as the platform scales

 

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong software engineering background with security focus
• Mandatory exposure or hands-on experience with cryptography
  (certificates, keys, encryption, TLS, PKI, crypto lifecycle, etc.)
• Experience building backend systems and cloud-native services
• Strong knowledge of secure APIs, integrations, and system design
• Experience working in compliance-sensitive or security-critical platforms
• Ability to work independently and later lead or delegate work to offshore/outsourced teams
