I want just to say: welcome aboard!
I'm excited to start chatting with you about how we can make lamer news better.
First steps, I''ll try to start merging pull requests and implement
what we lack most, like moderation, votable comments, and a few more
things.
It is also of primary importance to have an "about" page with our
rules about what is and what is not ok to post, and to deploy the
application in a less lamer way, that is currently everything is
running with:
ruby app.rb
So to upgrade the code I need to stop and restart it, not good.
A few more info: for the first year I'm sponsoring the VPS needed to
run the site. However I would like to share accesses with a few of you
soon, especially guys with sysadmin/Ruby experience that are in
different timezones and can fix stuff when I'm sleeping and the other
way around.
The site will be run as a non-profit stuff, this means: never ADS,
never companies affiliations, or even just sponsorship of servers and
so forth.
In a second step I want to form an official "collective" with 10
members from different companies, but to do this we need to see who
will naturally get involved in the next months. Decisions will be a
collective/democratic stuff instead of being the vision of a single
guy.
