Dear all,

Please write to you MP to ask them to sign an Open Letter and EDM to redirect £1 billion of subsidies from dirty biomass to genuinely low-carbon renewables. It will take a minute.

Then join us this Thursday, 7pm, at Friends of the Earth HQ The Printworks, 139 Clapham Road SW9 0HP, (about 10 mins walk from Stockwell Tube) for a free screening of BURNED - Are Trees the New Coal?
BURNED.JPG
BURNED tells the little-known story of the accelerating destruction of our forests for fuel, and probes the policy loopholes, huge subsidies, and blatant green washing of the burgeoning biomass power industry. Around £1 billion of bill-payers money subsidised making climate change worse!

Please forward this to your networks, friends and colleagues, encourage them to write to their MPs and bring some along.

The film is 45 mins, excellent, and will be followed by Q&A and discussion and a short talk by a North Carolina forest owner and campaigner.

Hope to see you there.

Duncan
