Dear local community folk,

We are doing a free event, called Preparing Locally for a No-Deal Brexit (Monday 8 Oct at Open Project Night in Brixton) organised by Transition Town Brixton and the Impact Hub

The banks are hoarding money, government is supposedly hoarding food and asking drug companies to hoard medicines... What happens if this isn't enough? We want to bring together local people and organisations (and the council) to look at practical things we can do to protect the vulnerable against the possible impacts of a hard or no-deal Brexit. We plan to focus particularly on Health and Food.

We plan to open with a couple of speakers who can address what could happen but also have ideas about practical measures a community could take to mitigate the worst impacts. Vicki Hird of Sustain will attend to speak on Food and we hope Prof Tim LangWe are still looking for health experts.  Any suggestions or volunteers welcome.

We will then discuss, possibly in themed small groups, what we, our organisations and the council should be doing.

We'd like as many people from Lambeth organisation to be there as possible to listen and think with us but also to offer advice and information about what they are doing. Information gathered will be circulated afterwards.

Please sign up here for free tickets and spread the word. Please forward to colleagues you think should know about it. Facebook event is here
Hope to see you on Monday 8 October.

Best regards
Duncan
