Dear all,

We are doing a free event, called Preparing Locally for a No-Deal Brexit (Monday 8 Oct at Open Project Night in Brixton) organised by Transition Town Brixton and the Impact Hub

The banks are hoarding money, government is supposedly hoarding food and asking drug companies to hoard medicines... What happens if this isn't enough? We want to bring together local people and organisations (and the council) to look at practical things we can do to protect the vulnerable against the possible impacts of a hard or no-deal Brexit. We plan to focus particularly on Health and Food.

Vicki Hird from Sustain will kick off the discussion around food. 30% of our food comes from the EU. The capital particularly is disproportionately dependent upon imported food. We will then discuss, possibly in themed small groups, what we, our organisations and the council should be doing.  Information gathered will be circulated afterwards.

The health sector has been unresponsive... Drag any experts you know with you.

Please forward to colleagues you think should know about it. Facebook event is here. Don't worry about booking. Just turn up.

Hope to see you later.

Best regards
Duncan
