The open house will include concept display boards, a presentation and a chance for the public to review the plan and provide feedback.
Objective:
Incorporate singletrack into trail development during initial and continued planning phases, rather than retrofitting singletrack into whatever is feasible after all other plans are complete.

Singletrack is a great trail experience! <INSERT your reason(s) for enjoying singletrack> (exercise, challenge, immersion in nature, escape, etc)
Properly designed singletrack is sustainable, relatively inexpensive, yet a valuable trail type that is in high demand around the country, including here in the Midwest / our community.
For <INSERT reasons you find important> please include singletrack trail experience in the land use plans for the Dow-Maniti project. (i.e. connectivity - ride to your ride, trails are conservation, community health / wellness, etc.)
Background
Natural surface singletrack is a trail experience that is in high demand yet sorely lacking in many places. User groups, mostly mt. bikers, traditionally form advocacy organizations and develop singletrack trails primarily on a volunteer basis. These trails are often an afterthought in the context of public facility development, being squeezed into narrow byways and or finite parcels of land (especially in the Midwest), resulting in trails that are often of lower quality in design and build, lending towards a less desirable trail experience that is often higher maintenance.
Let's band together and propose singletrack be worked into the conceptual and detailed planning phases of development forthe Dows - Maniti project, resulting in an intentional trail experience that compliments other property plans and existing topography.
