MMM welcomes this week’s check-in sponsor, GE Capital Bring a Friend to MMM….You Both Win!! This week, bring a guest to MMM and after they have registered, you will both be eligible for prize drawings.
WALK, RUN or BIKE to the Top of Mt Trashmore! Back by popular demand! Walkers, runners and bikers can ascend Mt Trashmore for the best views of our city! Group walks will leave NewBo City Market at 5:15, 5:30 and 5:45 p.m. Group bike ride and running groups will depart at 6 p.m. Bill Micheel and/or other Solid Waste Agency staff will give a brief presentation for those interested at 6:15 p.m. at the top of Mt. Trashmore. Distance from NewBo to the top of Mt Trashmore is 1.4 miles, so allow adequate time for return trip. All participants MUST be off Mt. Trashmore by the time the gates close at 7 p.m. Helmets are required for all cyclists, and parents must accompany their children under age 13. Blue Zones Project® Walking Moai teams welcome! WALK INTO FALL: Join the Blue Zones Project and Mercy Medical Center for a 10-week walking adventure to extend your walking into the Fall! Walking Moais will meet at NewBo City Market each Thursday evening, September 18 through November 20 for a destination walk. Join us this week, Sept 18 at 5 p.m., to sign up for this adventure and Walk into Fall with Blue Zones!
RUNNERS: Join Corridor Running as they lead groups on routes from beginner to advanced levels. Meet at 5:45 p.m. for warm-up exercises and run together at 6 p.m. Don’t forget to stop at the MMM check-in table before your run.
FREE OUTDOOR YOGA CLASS: Bring your mat and join Analia Alegre-Femenias for Hatha Yoga this week. Check in at the Meet Me at the Market table before the 6 p.m. start of the class. In case of wet weather, the class will meet inside the Market.
MMM Season Finale: September 25 is the last MMM of this season! To celebrate all the fun of MMM 2014, all MMM attendees are encouraged to wear a MMM t-shirt and gather near the stage at 5:45 pm for awards. Top attendees will be recognized and receive prizes. Following the awards, a group photo will be taken by a drone camera to help us remember a great year at MMM. Haven't earned your MMM t-shirt this year or would like to a shirt in the other color? Remaining t-shirts will be available for $5 each on the 25th. Have you picked up your FREE Meet Me at the Market water bottle yet? Attend at least TEN times in 2014 and earn a new prize, a Meet Me at the Market water bottle! Check-in entries throughout 2014 will be counted. Come down for the fun and walk away with a new water bottle! Wear the gray or blue, it could be you! Wear your 2013 or 2014 Meet Me at the Market t-shirt, and you will have the chance to receive $5 in Chicken Scratch from NewBo City Market. We’ll “catch” you at the Market, on the trails and on the streets!
