Annual support maintenance increased by 15% for 2015.
We've had a turnover of 3-4 account reps in less than a 2 years.
There continues to be a general disatisfaction with the product(s) offered and customer service received.
We are seriously researching a replacement for M2M in year 2015.
Is anyone else considering this too?  Maybe we can combine our resources?

We are not officially looking, but I am checking into:

1.       JD Edwards (Oracle)

2.       Microsoft Dynamics

3.       Hansworld

4.       Plex (but not really interested.)

We will not do anything in 2015, but Aptean does seem determined to shed itself of the bother of customers.

We stopped our support because we were concerned about Aptean and the direction they were heading.

We rarely use support and when we had our 1st issue with Aptean we saw the knowledge base was

abandoned.  We could not get ahold of someone that could work on our issue without us babysitting them with constant requests for help.  Basically they wore us out but so did Made 2 Manage.  Our support bill is expensive and when the renewal came up I called to speak with someone in sales or customer service.

I told them I was very disappointed that I could not get a support issue resolved, I was a longtime customer

and I was considering dropping Made 2 Manage and using the renewal fees to purchase a new program.

Aptean’s response was – “let us know if you change your mind”

At that point we decided it was time to explore other avenues.

For those of you looking at other options – let’s keep in touch.

@Gina

That will be fine and great! No need to  duplicate efforts. In fact, we can even have a joint team to share research etc. or evaluate different comapnies and then  compare notes. then   narrow it down to  a couple of vendors and  have them  do presentations  to   you and ours and  any other companies   changing packages. Maybe we could get a better packaged deal /discount  that way.

The folks from CableConn would definitely be up for a user group meeting.  We will drive north or you can drive south to San Diego.    Either way, we are interested in hearing what others are doing who are not happy with M2M.

Two months ago, we went off maintenance after 14 years.   The cost was ridiculous, and they just didn’t care.   We were approached by 3 groups offering support – Brian Tognoni’s, Ken Roy’s, and DKM in Los Angeles.   They all have talented ex-m2m support people.    We chose DKM simply because they are close in proximity, and they offered blocks of support which we decided to try.   We have used about an hour of time since we started, and if that continues, it may cost us $1500 annually.   A far cry from the $31,000 M2M wanted.

We gave Aptean every chance to lower the cost & commitment.   They chose to not respond to our offers.   I couldn’t be happier for their decision.

Thanks & good luck to everyone,

Tom

We could also host a meeting if North Orange County (Fullerton, but we’re on the Brea & La Habra borders – basically about a mile from the 57 FWY Imperial Highway exit) is an option.

We signed for a three year, only because we felt it would take a year or so to sort through our options and then plan out a conversion.

They we very active in getting our renewal, and not so much now that the check has cleared.

Carl,

Version 3.2 does rock.  It was the most stable version I thought.
Reading what the employees are stating on glass door (link below) will bring a pit to your stomach.
I wonder if the management issues  are due to whoever is making the decisions at the top knows nothing about running a Software\Service Business.   Whatever happened to the Customer Loyalty Advocate?  That position was supposed to carry a strong customer voice to management regarding customer satisfaction.  Hopefully they can get it together before too many customers bolt.

We have been reviewing several packages to replace M2M recently.

I am struck by how antiquated the M2M interface is compared to the competition.   Other systems seem to be way ahead in ease of use and customization.

We are moving away as soon as we reasonably can.

Before the holidays it seemed like several of us were going to get together and look at several new systems.

Are some of you ready to start doing that?

Anthony,

Benjamin Electric Co. in Los Angeles maybe interested.  We never progressed beyond M2M 3.2 and discontinued our maintenance contract awhile back. I really feel we are on borrowed time with this software at this point and need to seriously consider other options but finding the time to evaluate the various options out there can be extremely time consuming.
