We do about 60% of our revenue by EDI.  We use Acclimate’s add-on module configured to use a CSV input file.  Ours comes from a Web portal via Excel, but CSV is a universal text format.  We have prototyped other input sources (SQL script, manually entered text) to convince ourselves that we can expand to more customers.  We have not tried XML, but I wouldn’t expect any major difficulties.
