The existing M2M Indented Costed Bill of Material report lists the cost of labor and material for ALL parts but does not indicate the number of hours for each work center (which makes up the labor $).  When we bid new business we estimate the labor hours for all our work centers involved in the product (also required to substantiate the $ we are charging).  Therefore we need to see the hours by work center It would answer the what if scenario if I was to build another 9999-01 part, what should I expect the total requirement from mechanical assembly, electrical assembly etc. (each a unique work center which would appear on a routing). Our BOMS are up to 8 levels deep with many, many parts assembled in our own plant.

Thanks for any insight.

Gloria,

Are you looking for

A.      A work center listing at the end of the indented BOM report that would sum the requirements for each work center for all Make components or ,

B.      One that has a separate work center listing for each make item in the indented BOM?

We have created the following spreadsheet that imports data from M2M. If you are willing to create JO for the product you anticipate creating (leave OPEN) the spreadsheet will identify hours for each work center. The spreadsheet is a pivot table created by using the data import function in Excel.

Sorry to take so long to reply to this. I created this spreadsheet which updates from live M2M data each time it is opened. The pivot tables show job orders with work centers as columns of data. We created this spreadsheet so our shop manager could tell how many workcenter hours are being required. The selection criteria for this spreadsheet is jobs with "RELEASED" status. For a what-if scenarios you could change the criteria to "STARTED" status. It looks at JO data not the routers so you would need to create JO in started status to get the data you need.

You won't be able to use this spreadsheet directly because it is linked to our SQL server database but you can get the essence of it from the data included. If you haven't used the data import feature in Excel, it is a very powerful analysis tool. This assumes you have a version of M2M that uses SQL. I have attached the slides from the M2M recorded training.
