Backflush by BOM

Hi all! Does anyone know if there is a way to backflush parts by BOM? 

I have component A that goes into finished goods B and C. I DO want component A to backflush on finished good B, but I do NOT want component A to backflush for finished good C.

From the responses I am getting from Aptean, it seems like you can only set a part to backflush or not on the item master but that seems like a missed opportunity.
