I've been working with a UPS technician and M2M support to get
Made2Manage/Worldship set up to automatically send an email to
customers when their order has shipped. Has anyone gotten this
functionality to work? We've been unable to get the email field in
WorldShip to populate.

We have M2M version 5.52 and Worldship 11.0. The Quantum View Notify
option is checked in the UPSSET form in M2M. In the upsmast table in
M2M, the qvnoption field is being populated with a "Y", the qvnsubject
field is correctly being populated with the subject line we created in
UPSSET, and the word "email" is being populated in the qvntype field,
and, the fcemail field is populated with the customer's email address.
The mappings in worldship were checked and double checked by UPS and
by M2M and they concurred the mappings were not the issue.

The problem is that the email address does not get imported into
WorldShip, but all the other customer information does. After working
with UPS and M2M on two occasions, our M2M support person found that
he could not get this functionality to work either and he was using
M2M 6.0 and Worldship 12. He stated that a Made2Manage change release
may be in order.

I find it slightly hard to believe that no one using M2M 5.52 or 6.0
has gotten WorldShip to work and populate the email field. Let me
know if any of you have gotten this to work, or if you have had issues
and it would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Eric. Long ago, I created mine own M2M/UPS ODBC connection
pulling shipping info from M2M and then pushing info back to M2M like
the tracking#, # of packages, and the total freight cost onto the
shipper.

I don't know if this is the overarching norm or best practices as far
as IT goes, but my route was to create a "View" that encapulated all
and only the info I needed from the various tables like
SOMAST,SLCDPM,SHMAST into one table so that in UPS, all the info it
needed was in one table. That made it a lot easier and a little
quicker.

I don't use the email from SLCDPM though so I don't know where that
problem is. I have IFE and created my own email address table linked
to the salesmen accounts (SLPN) but I don't see why it would be any
different; it's just text. Just gotta put it in the right field in
Worldship. I believe it's in the Ship Information table and then
select the appropriate QVN option(s) based on the circumstance. That
was the other nice thing with the view, I could customize which QVN
option to choose based on the results of the query for that line
item. For instance, if the package is going Red, make the field QVN1
option true in the view which is mapped to the appropriate QVN option
in UPS, which in this case was to flag the exceptions check box as
well.

Anyways, I'd be glad to share and help in any way. We're on M2M v5.6
SP1 and Worldship 11. And this same works with FedEx.

Best,
Raj

Hello Eric:

We use 3rd bridge software between M2M v. 6.0 and both the
UPS and FedEx Web portals.  The link passes e-mail addresses
to WorldLink just fine.  That's the good news.  The bad news is
that we hired a consultant to do the coding, so I can't describe
the particulars.

If you contact me off-line, I can steer you to the Code Warrior

We use m2m vfp program and I added the field armast.fpono to the customer statement report.  The field works fine when I print the statements but when I export to excel the field name at the header pulls over but no data?  Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Eric,

I checked with our warehouse supervisor to confirm and he did agree that it works for us as long as Sales has entered an email address on the SO.  I’ve asked him for our UPS contact (both sales & technical) to share with you.  Since we are located in the same city, you should be able to make use of our same resources and get this feature working for you too.

Thanks,

~ Gina Umipig
