Welcome to the group + First meeting

Hi all,

Welcome to this group! The idea is to meet every last Tuesday of the
month (starting on the 26th
October) at the SkillsMatter venue in East London. I know many of you
are thinking that this is actually what XTC does; yesterday I spoke
with some of the XTC people and the idea is possibly to combine the
LALP monthly initiative with XTC: the formula could be to start at
SkillsMatter and continue down the pub as usual.

LALP doesn't want to be alternative to XTC but rather complementary.
Since I was asked not to organise any initiatives using the XTC name,
I had to create my own group to obtain the availability of the
SkillsMatter venue once a month.

First I'd like to invite you to join the group, which you can find

Secondly I'd like to ask if there is anyone of you who would like to
discuss a particular topic, being a speaker, present a book, etc.

For the 26th October the discussion topic will be: Acceptance Tests:
Do they fit within the Agile/Lean process? Practical examples between
different Acceptance test frameworks .

The session will be introduced by myself (as this will be our first
meeting) but I will then leave the scene to Benjamin Wootton, who has
had extensive experience with some of the Acceptance Tests frameworks,
especially Cucumber.

The format of the evening will be (please read times in pm):

* 6.30: Introduction to the evening and the LALP group by Marco
Tedone
* 6.45: Do Acceptance tests fit within Agile/Lean Methodologies?
Practical
examples of different Acceptance Test frameworks by Benjamin Wootton
* 7.15: Q&A and Open Discussion
* 8.00: Discussion continues down the pub (location to be
confirmed)
