How to Use Eptar Reinforcement for ArchiCAD 15

Eptar Reinforcement is a solution that helps designers to draw documents and lists the necessary reinforcement for their buildings in ArchiCAD. The solution contains a library of different reinforcement objects and an Add-on. They provide great freedom in defining constructions and also help to specify complex objects.

In this article, we will show you how to use Eptar Reinforcement for ArchiCAD 15 to create a simple reinforced concrete beam with stirrups and rebars.

Step 1: Install Eptar Reinforcement

To use Eptar Reinforcement, you need to install it on your computer. You can download the demo version from here or buy the full version from here. After downloading, run the installer and follow the instructions. You will need to restart ArchiCAD after installation.

Step 2: Draw a Beam

Open ArchiCAD 15 and create a new project. Go to the Floor Plan view and draw a beam using the Beam tool. You can use any profile and dimensions you want. For this example, we will use a rectangular profile with 300 mm width and 500 mm height.

Step 3: Add Reinforcement Elements

Select the beam and go to Design > Design Extras > Eptar Reinforcement > Add Reinforcement Elements. A dialog box will appear where you can choose the type of reinforcement elements you want to add. For this example, we will add stirrups and rebars.

To add stirrups, click on the Stirrup button and select a preset shape from the list. You can also create your own custom shape by clicking on the Polygon button. Then, enter the parameters for the stirrup, such as diameter, spacing, offset, cover, etc. You can see a preview of the stirrup on the right side of the dialog box. Click OK to add the stirrup.

To add rebars, click on the Rebar button and select a preset shape from the list. You can also create your own custom shape by clicking on the Polygon button. Then, enter the parameters for the rebar, such as diameter, number, offset, cover, etc. You can see a preview of the rebar on the right side of the dialog box. Click OK to add the rebar.

Step 4: Edit Reinforcement Elements

You can edit the reinforcement elements by selecting them and going to Design > Design Extras > Eptar Reinforcement > Edit Reinforcement Elements. A dialog box will appear where you can change the parameters of the selected elements. You can also use the Pet Palette to rotate, move, copy or delete them.

Step 5: Generate Cutting List

To generate a cutting list for your reinforcement elements, go to Design > Design Extras > Eptar Reinforcement > Generate Cutting List. A dialog box will appear where you can choose the settings for your cutting list, such as units, rounding, sorting, etc. Click OK to generate the cutting list.

The cutting list will be placed on your floor plan as an interactive schedule. You can edit it by double-clicking on it or by using the Schedule tool. You can also export it as a PDF or Excel file.

Conclusion

Eptar Reinforcement is a powerful solution that allows you to create reinforced concrete structures in ArchiCAD easily and efficiently. It helps you to define complex objects, calculate quantities and generate documents for your projects. You can learn more about Eptar Reinforcement by visiting their website or watching their videos.
