Google maps is as confused as I am.  Google maps puts the location here….

But the photos of the place make it appear as if it is on the lake.  Even their own website has it several blocks inland.  The next image is from PM’s website.

The photos of the place it by the lake.  If I head down towards the lake, I come across muddy streets.  I will be arriving by bike and I won’t be ploughing through these streets.  I did find some sort of unmarked building near Paseo del Lago, which PM mention on their site as being the entrance.

Is this it?

I cannot find any signage to indicate this is correct and Google lists this as 316 del Pilar.

Then on Google birds-eye view, I see the label pointing to a field.

Any idea how I get there?

I was going to give Vijay a ride, but I will not have my car.  So Vijay is still stuck without a means to get there, and I can get there by bike.  I have another commitment that bumps up against the freethinkers, so I wasn’t sure of the exact time I would be available to set off.

I tried to find Punta Mirasol on Google Maps, but as you can see by my email, it got me nowhere.  I am not sure if it is too new to be featured on the arial shot.  I have been told if I go down Del Pilar, I will see it at the end.

Where are you setting out from?  I think I can be at Farmacias Guadalajaras in Ajijic at 2.45pm, and if you have room to accommodate Vijay, perhaps he can be there at that time.  If you only have space for one, you could take Vijay and I will venture out on my bike.

Does this sound anywhere close to being a plan?

The place must be a recent development, but I think that if you start from the highway that connects Chapala with Jocotepec at the sign that says Mirasol and go straight for the Lake.If it is not there, at least you´ll find me looking for the place as well. I will bring my dogs, perhaps they can be useful in the search.

John,

Yes, from the Carratera turn right onto Calle San Diego just past the Mirasol development sign.  Follow Calle San Diego to the end.  Turn right.  Turn left at the next intersection.  Then drive straight toward the lake.  Punta Mirasol Club Nautico is on the right just inside Parque Riberas del Pilar.

Why don;t you phone the facility and ask them for easy-to-follow directions?

I now believe the directions are straightforward.  The problem stems from their own site locating it blocks inland and Google shows nothing and puts its location indicator in the water.

I wanted to avoid riding around the muddy streets of Riberas and thought I could be helped with a Google street view.  The images must be out of date.

Phil,

I'm afraid the streets of Riberas are unavoidably muddy after the deluge last night. In order to avoid the worst puddles, turn right of Calle San Diego on to Calle San Antonio about 100 feet before the end of the street.  Then take the first left on to Del Pilar and go straight toward the lake.  Punta Mirasol Club Nautico is on the right just inside the park.
