We will have another season-ending update for you soon, however we wanted to send this upcoming opportunity asap.

Dear FRC coach,

We are excited to announce that PCC Sylvania will offer a Machine Technology class for twenty (20) FIRST robotics students this summer! 

• PCC MCH 157 Project Machine Technology 1 (1.5 college credits)

• Learn how to use all basic manual machine shop machines.  Lathe, mill, drill press, measuring instruments.

Priority will be given to the first teams to respond. Please send the required information (see below) no later than June 2.

Each FRC and FTC team may nominate 2 high school students to attend and provide 2 students as back-up in the event there are cancellations or extra spots available. This camp is being offered at no cost to all attendees due to a generous grant. 

PCC Sylvania Summer Opportunity

• Thu, Jul 6 to Fri, Jul 14: 9am to 3pm each day.

• Teams should only nominate students who can commit to attend all 7 days and are prepared for a college-level course. 

• Open to students of all genders, in grades 9-11.

• Please nominate at least one student from an underrepresented group.

Registration Information

The enroll your students with PCC for this class, please email Alexander Vins with the following info in ONE email and in this format:

• Student name, email, cell

• Parent/guardian name, email, cell

• Age

• Grade level

• Team and sponsor contact

• School name

Alexander will respond to the teams with additional enrollment info.

We are happy to send any 2 students who want to go.  I’m taking the 1st 2 students to reply with a firm commitment in order to try to ensure our students get slots.

Please let me know if this is a firm yes or no.  I always encourage students who want to expand their robotics knowledge and skills beyond a single area.  Students with a broad knowledge of multiple areas can fill a unique role on the team in integrating the various robot subsystems.
