Hello, Cedar Park neighbors!

After carefully considering and analyzing all input from the community, we have developed the draft design for the new sidewalks, walkways, and other related Cedar Park neighborhood improvements.

Please review the attached plan and let us know if you have comments by Wednesday, December 24.

Thank you all for your input, for being engaged community members, and for being part of what makes Seattle great!

Best regards,

The Building Sidewalk and Walkway Connections Outreach Team

I submitted my feedback directly as follow up to the walking meeting I hosted. It's good to see progress being made on non-arterial 35th.

Omitting traffic calming while adding sidewalks to 35th between Erickson and 145th will INCREASE unsafe conditions due to traffic volume, speeding, and the road surface being less than the specified width for the type of streeet 35th is classified as (road surface is 20 ft, not 22 ft). The street narrows to 1 lane in several sections due to on street parking combined with potholes and standing water, so adding more sidewalks will increase congestion during commute times.

I was almost hit this week by a truck cutting through the neighborhood at a high rate of speed driving around a car that had right of way on the paved surface.

The Walkshop report was not in response to the Greenways walk Darcy led.
The Walkshop report is in response to an SDOT-organized walk on
September 16th, 2025. People in North Cedar Park, between NE 125th and
NE 145th were notified of that walk, plus a survey was sent around later
if you weren't able to attend the Walksop lead by SDOT.

I agree sidewalks are not the best solution to problems on 35th Ave NE
between NE 135th and NE 145t streets.

We need to ALWAYS speak as a neighborhood. When the first Greenway was
put in on 37th Ave NE, Janine Blaloch and the whole North Cedar Park
group worked TOGETHER. There were changes made to the whole neighborhood
becasue changing things on one street, influences traffic on the other
streets in a neighborhood.

We have a stronger voice when we work together.

One group saying one thing and another group in the same neighborhood
saying something else, make it very difficult for the city to made the
best decisions.

Remember, the Walkshop report is a draft.
